- Lead (Pb) – 0.003%
- Copper (Cu) – 0.03%
- Iron (Fe) – 0.02%
- Nickel (Ni) – 0.001%
- Cadmium (Cd) – 0.003%
- Tin (Sn) – 0.001%
- Silicon (Si) – 0.02%
There are two categories of Zamak 3 properties. Mechanical properties and physical properties.
Mechanical Properties of Zamak 3
The properties that are associated with a component’s reaction against applied load are the mechanical properties of that component. For example, tensile strength, impact strength, shear strength, modulus of elasticity, hardness, yield strength, elongation, etc. The below table shows the mechanical Zinc 3 properties:

Physical Properties of Zamak 3
The properties which are associated with a material’s physical state are the physical properties of that material. And the physical properties of a material include the mass, density, boiling and melting points, thermal conductivity, specific heat capacity, electrical resistivity, coefficient of friction, etc. The below table shows the physical Zinc 3 properties:

What Are the Advantages of Zamak 3 Alloy?
The Zamak 3 alloy has achieved the de facto standard which means this is the most publicly accepted Zamak alloy on the market. The advantages of using this alloy are:
- Zamak 3 has a low melting point and high fluidity. For this reason, it saves energy while it is being used to produce metal parts.
- The Zamak 3 alloy is good for casting because it allows high complexity and accuracy but low tolerance.
- This is a very versatile alloy that allows different types of surface finishing on it such as painting, plating, etc.
- The dimensional stability of Zamak 3 is excellent and so the castability of this alloy is outstanding.
- Zamak 3 alloy is a recyclable alloy so it does not harm the environment.
- The vibration attenuation and damping capacity of the Zamak 3 alloy are excellent.
- It has high impact, wears, and corrosion resistivity.
- Zamak 3 casting molds have higher durability than aluminum casting. For this reason, they offer longer service life than aluminum.
- The Zamak 3 alloy is suitable for both small and mass production.
- This alloy does not harm the air in the environment by dispersing any harmful substances.
What Are the Applications of Zamak 3 Alloy?
The Zamak 3 alloy is used in many industries for making die casting components. Here a re some of the most highlighted applications of this alloy are:
Automotive Industry
In the automobile industry, there are many components such as forklift parts, car doorknobs, etc. that are made of Zamak 3 alloy.
Plumbing Fittings
Manufacturers use this alloy to make bibcock, hose bibb, faucet, valve, casting pipe, and many other plumbing fittings.
Toy Industry
In the toy industry, the Zamak 3 alloy is used to make action figures, miniature cars, or components for other toys.
